Billing inbound, returns, and load carriers
Last updated
Inbound goods, outbound replenishment, and returns are billed with their own cost categories. Load carrier types let you price a Euro pallet differently from a block pallet or a roll container, on both deliveries and storage.
Charge types for these categories are also listed in Invoicing fees and charge types.
Inbound and outbound deliveries
Cost category Inbound / Outbound processing is checked once per delivery.
| Charge type | Multiplied by |
|---|---|
| Fixed | Once per matching delivery |
| Per pallet | The delivery’s pallet count |
| Per box | The delivery’s box count |
| Per item | Item quantity on the delivery |
| Per SKU | Distinct SKUs on the delivery |
| Tiered | Brackets on whatever you set under Layered on. A new tier starts on Total weight (kg); switch it to Item quantity to bracket on the number of items. In Flat amount per bracket, the matching amount is charged once per delivery. |
Conditions can use Delivery, Product, and Seller.
| Delivery field | Values |
|---|---|
| Direction | Inbound or Outbound |
| Type | Supplier → FC, Seller → FC, FC → Bol, FC → Amazon |
| Status | New, Confirmed, Delivered, Stocked, Shipped, Cancelled, and the waiting or archived states |
| Pallets / Boxes | Counts on the delivery |
| Load carrier | Shown after you add load carrier types |
A rule with Direction Inbound ignores outbound shipments to Bol or Amazon. Use a second rule when those outbound deliveries have their own price.
Returns
Cost category Return processing is checked once per processed return.
| Charge type | Multiplied by |
|---|---|
| Fixed | Once per matching return |
| Per return | Once per matching return |
| Per item | Returned item quantity |
| Per SKU | Distinct SKUs on the return |
| Tiered | Brackets on whatever you set under Layered on. Switch Total weight (kg) to Item quantity to bracket on the number of returned items. In Flat amount per bracket, the matching amount is charged once per return. |
Conditions can use Returns, Order product, Product, and Seller. Returns → Processed by FC limits the rule to returns the fulfillment center has handled.
Set up load carrier types
- Open Settings.
- Under WMS Configuration, open Load carriers.
- Add a name for each type you receive or store, for example Euro pallet, Block pallet, or Roll container.
Until this list has at least one type, invoicing hides the Load carrier condition on deliveries and on storage. Record the type on the inbound delivery (and on stock locations, for storage pricing) so the rule has something to match.
Pallet price and load-carrier price
Per pallet without a load-carrier condition uses the delivery’s total pallet count.
Per pallet with a load-carrier condition uses only the pallets of that type. In list adds the counts of every selected type.
These rules are independent. When both match, both are charged. A load-carrier price is added on top of a pallet price that has no load-carrier filter.
Example: a delivery has 2 Euro pallets and 1 block pallet (3 pallets in total).
| Rule | Condition | Amount | Charged |
|---|---|---|---|
| Euro inbound | Load carrier equals Euro pallet, Per pallet | €4.00 | €8.00 |
| Block inbound | Load carrier equals Block pallet, Per pallet | €6.00 | €6.00 |
| Any pallet | No load-carrier condition, Per pallet | €2.00 | €6.00 |
The invoice shows €8 + €6 + €6. Remove the unfiltered rule when the contract is only the type-specific price.
A type-specific rule does not match a delivery that has a pallet count but no load-carrier breakdown. Those pallets are only picked up by a Per pallet rule with no load-carrier condition.
Load carriers on storage
The same types can price storage. A storage rule matches a section only when that section’s stock locations share one load carrier type. Mixed sections and sections with no type fall through to the next storage rule. Details are in Billing storage costs.
